My Journaling Journey: How a Trip to the Alps Changed Everything

My Journaling Journey: How a Trip to the Alps Changed Everything

Journaling didn’t come naturally to me at first. If you struggle to stare at a blank page, I completely get it. Here is how I started, how I stay consistent, and why it completely changed my mindset.

How It Started
My journey began last June at a The Wellness Tribe retreat in the French Alps. We all received a three-month wellness journal to use every morning. Starting was tough, but the layout was incredibly thoughtful. It featured morning prompts for daily goals and affirmations, plus an evening section to reflect on the day. If you are a beginner who has no idea where to start, structured prompts are an absolute game-changer.

How Often Do I Do It?

My routine changes regularly. I might journal daily for weeks, and then completely skip three days in a row. It all depends on my mood, my bedtime, or simply whether I remember to do it before sleep. Consistency doesn’t mean perfection. Since that retreat, I have already filled five journals and am now on my sixth. Today, I use blank notebooks. I no longer need the prompts that helped me start, but I never pressure myself to be perfect.

5 Big Benefits I’ve Noticed Preserving memories:

I love reading back to remember tiny details I would have otherwise forgotten.

Instant perspective:
Looking back at things that stressed me out two months ago proves they rarely matter now.

Goal crushing:
Putting ideas on paper makes them real, which pushes me to actually take action

.Daily gratitude: Before closing the book, I write down three things I am grateful for to stay grounded.

Self-awareness: Writing helped me spot subconscious behavior patterns and break negative habits for good.
