Last week I’ve had some time off work which is very unusual for me and I decided to book a night away to Lincoln with my mum for some very needed girl time.

We stayed at the castle hotel which was right in the center, it was easy to find and locate as drove and has parking on site as well. We stayed in one of the outside buildings which made it easier as the hotel it’s self isn’t open 24hrs but does have a staff member that stays at the hotel who you can call if there is an emergency.

The are basic but nice and clean. The only down side to our room was that the alarm had a green light which was extremely bright in the night, so much so I struggled to get to sleep.

We went to eat at a new tapas restaurant called Triana Tapas Bar. Unfortunately I won’t be able to recommend this as somewhere to visit. There was noting massively wrong with the food but it was plain which is not what I expect from a tapas restaurant and I’ve had much better quality and standard of food. Also the menu was very limited but did offer gluten free options.

We did have a shop round the day after and stop off at a cute little spa which was right on steep hill called Sanctum. I didn’t have any treatments but would defiantly look into it the next time I visited. But they did have really lovely items in the store from jewelry, make up bags, totes and some clothing. All from small business which was nice and I loved the make-up bags they would make a lovely gift for someone.

I would defiantly recommend Lincoln for a night away, it wasn’t too expensive for the hotel and there was some lovely little bars to go in and have a drink. Next time I will be trying one of the other restaurants in the areas, but there is so many to choose from.

Really is the perfect staycation if your wanting a girls trip or a night away with your partner. It’s also full of history and has lots of little galleries and shops for you to wonder round.
