First of all it’s probably important for me to explain why I chose to have a reiki session.
I’ve been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Lupus since I was a teenager. I’ve been trying for years to make it more manageable and it’s a daily struggle which I’m sure anyone with an autoimmune condition can tell you and currently I’m in my latest flare up.
So after trying every diet, exercise routine and more medications (prescribed by the doctor) and vitamins they I can remember I’ve decided to try something out of the box and started researching holistic therapies. Which is where I found reiki, it’s one of the many therapies which kept coming up when I was searching.
What is Reiki?
Originating in Japan, Reiki is a gentle energy therapy that induces deep relaxation and restores inner peace. It involves a practitioner acting as a conduit for life force energy to help balance the body, mind, and spirit, thus encouraging natural self-healing.
How did my reiki session go?
To be honest I wasn’t expecting to have such an effect as soon as the lovely lady called Karen who I went to started I got a tear in my eye and had a sense of calm come over me me. I also has a tingling feeling wherever she placed her hands. It was so relaxing and I felt like the millions and one thoughts I usually have going round in my head completely shut off and it was just quite.
How do I feel after reiki?
I felted a lot lighter after the session and really relaxed. I usually have difficulty sleeping on a night and I spelt really well for several days after having my session. I didn’t have any headaches for the next two days which is usual for me as well, but I just felt a lot happier and relaxed overall. I’ll definitely be going back for another session.
I’ll link the lady I went to here in case anyone is local to the South Yorkshire area. She’s lovely and explains everything and has a really calming aura.
Love
