In June I decided to go on a women’s only wellness retreat with a company called the Wellness Tribe. The retreat was run by two of the most amazing and lovely girls I have ever met Emily and Rachel, they have such good energy about them it’s really hard to explain but they’re just as lovely in person as they are online.
I was very unsure of what to expect or even if it was something I would enjoy but I’ve been in what seems to be an autopilot mode for the last couple of years not really experiencing life just going through the motions and not really sure what I wanted to do or what I even enjoyed doing anymore. I admit this is still an area I’m unsure of and the retreat didn’t give me all the answers I was looking for but it defiantly got me out of my rut I was in and made me start looking at changes I can make in my life which will hopefully help me figure it out.
So what did I get out of the retreat? Well I met the most amazing group of women and got to hear their stories, which ranged from emotional, inspiring to so hilariously funny I had tears in my eyes. Our group was really varied from age, relationship status, jobs, kids, no kids you name it. I think this made it even better because you got so many different outlooks on life it really help you look at issues you had in your from a different perspective it opened my eyes on how I was looking at issues in my life.
I’ve gained some amazing friendships which I will hopefully have for life. I’ve met up with some of the girls from the trip once already and a few of us have already booked to go on another day event with The Wellness tribe in September, which I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone.
Th whole experience was amazing and the girls had really put in so much thought and effort into every detail of the trip. It was full of new experiences, laughter, friendship and really good food! (I’m gluten free so this is no easy feet)
Since the retreat, what changes have I made to my life?
Well I’ve started journaling regularly I never thought I would be a person you enjoyed journaling. But actually really enjoy it, I find it really helpful to set goal at the beginning of the day and unload at the end. I also think it will be really nice to look back at one day and remember what I was doing and see if I can even remember the things I was worried about a year or 2 down the line.
I’ve also decided to sign up for a facial course to hopefully look into going into a different career field. I’ve always loved skincare and love learning about new products and what ingredients are good for your skin and why. I don’t think I would have ever had the confidence to do this if the girls from the retreat wouldn’t have been so encouraging.
I’m also looking into different types of medicine to help manage my lupus, just to be clear I will not be stopping my actual medication from my doctor or not following any advice they give me. But we did speak about how looking into your diet and different types of therapy’s can help with pain management and can have positive benefits.
The big question. Would I recommend?
1000% I’m so glad I booked this retreat it really help me look at my life from many different perspectives and have the courage to try a change. Including starting a blog again! But most importantly the friendships I have gained have been amazing and the trip was worth it just for them. So it your thinking about booking I would highly recommend booking one I don’t think you’ll regret it, I know I don’t and please check out the wellness tribe they have some amazing retreats and day events for you to look at.
Love
